Teachers at Ahimsa Studio

At Ahimsa Studio all instructors are certified in a tradition recognised by The Yoga Alliance. We practice a gentle healing form of yoga asana. We also appreciate and practice all eight branches of classical yoga. We cherish our practice of pranayama breath control and meditation.

Michelle Mendes

Michelle is a certified yoga instructor in the Viniyoga tradition. She received her training from Fitness Resource Associates. She currently teaches a gentle yoga class for pregnant women and other women seeking a gentle work out. Michelle bring boundlees enthusiasm and talent to her classes. Michelle is also a Reiki Level 1 Certification- Jin Kei Do Lineage



Nellie Moore

Nellie leads our Friday Gentle Yoga class. This is a wonderful class to end your week. Nellie's class is a gentle yoga class with an emphasis on meditation. Nellie trained with Judy Baker in Newton Ma. Judy was a principle teacher for other SHY teachers and many yoga teachers in the Boston area.

This class combines gentle stretching and breathing for a calming end of the week routine. This class is suitable for all levels. We all need to slow down and stop trying to achieve. You can learn to do that in this class.


Larry Pryor RYT

Larry Studied with Judy Baker at Fitness Resource Associates and is a Registered Yoga Instructor with the Yoga Alliance. He also has background and academic degrees in psychology and philosophy. Larry has been practicing yoga since 1992. This class focuses on extending the spine, twisting, lateral bending and forward bending. Larry has a special interest in meditation, laughing yoga and the healing aspects of yoga.

"Having come to yoga in the aftermath of a severe back injury and surgery I am sensitive to many of the issues of injury and advancing age. I try to make my class a welcoming place for students of all levels of ability."

Larry also teaches individual classes for students with disabilities or with limited mobility. All Savin Hill Yoga facilities are handicap accessible.
